The summer heat finally left us last weekend, so we can look forward to the beautiful Phoenix fall and winter temperatures for the next several months. Chris and I decided to go for a walk after dinner to enjoy the weather. The air was cool, a slight breeze stirring, and we walked no where in particular, enjoying being together and talking. Not far from our house, we heard a violin, playing Bach's Chaconne. At first, we thought it was a recording - the playing was assured, skilled - but as we walked by the open window, we caught a brief glimpse of a woman, violin in hand, intent on music and oblivious of two suddenly silent walkers. Our steps slowed, we listened happily, both caught by the unexpected pleasure of hearing such lovely music on an evening stroll.
