I really love this time of year. I know, I know, there's so much advertising, so much commercialism, so much cynicism. But I don't let that stuff get to me. I love looking at lights, I love the music, I love the whole spirit of the holidays. I still watch sappy Christmas movies, and get a little teary. I especially love all the holiday parties at work....mmmm....
So I know that there's so much emphasis right now on giving, and I know you can feel like you're blowing all your savings on not only gifts, but charitable donations. But I'm not after your money, I'm after your blood! Please, consider donating a pint this holiday season. It's truly the gift that keeps on giving, AND it doesn't blow your budget. You can even schedule an appointment, so there'll be no waiting. And don't tell me you're afraid of needles - that's the lamest excuse in the world. You wouldn't say that if it was your loved one in need of a transfusion.
I also forgot to mention that my Charleston Redux post is in the current Carnival of the Infosciences. Check it out, and visit the other entries while you're at it!
Update: Yes, I DID donate a pint of the good stuff, on Nov. 29th. I am O+, so I try to donate 4 times a year, at least. I think I might have actually done it in 2006!
